How lucky can a girl get? Not only did I have one amazing baby shower, but there was a second one in my hometown of Holland, Michigan, hosted by my sister-in-law Bethany and good friend, Janet. We gathered on a sunny Sunday afternoon and it was perfect.
My sister-in-law wanted farmers market flowers and chocolates for the favors. She’s such a busy lady and had to work Saturday morning, so I went with my brother and Marc to pick out pretty flowers and the hardest job of all, choosing chocolates from the local candy store, The Peanut Store. They make hand-made chocolates and we chose a key lime truffle, sea salt caramels in milk chocolate and chocolate peanut butter truffles. Bethany wrapped them in black-striped favor bags with gold ties and gold heart stickers.
Our friend Janet and her husband Dean are wonderful hosts and wonderful cooks. They grilled sirloin steak stuffed with rice and grilled vegetables with garlic mashed potatoes and a huge green salad. Bethany ordered rolls from our favorite Italian bakery, Pereddie’s, and served them with herb butter.
This is my plate and sadly I only ate about half before stopping for photos and chats. Everything was SO GOOD.
For dessert, Bethany made mini cheesecakes and Janet made a chocolate cake with chocolate whipped cream frosting. They also saved some extra chocolate whipped cream frosting for adding to coffee, all the heart-eye emojis!
We did a little photo shoot with my girls. Beautiful friends I’ve known since I was little. Kelly flew in from California to be there! This little babe is so loved already.
All my love and thanks to Dean and Janet and this beautiful lady, I’m lucky to call my sister. Our candid photos are always better than the posed ones. It’s been so sweet to watch her become a mom to my sweet nephew, Judah, who is the happiest little guy. Her parenting and coupon tips are already coming in handy. Thanks for everything, love.
