Some people come down pretty hard on Pinterest for its ability to monopolize your free time or its glorification of perfection. Sure, it can be those things, but I find it to be a helpful tool in quickly scanning what’s new in recipes, home design, fashion and beauty. Recently, I’ve found some incredible beauty tips that have changed the way I style my hair and apply my makeup and I thought I’d share them with you!
You’ve probably seen adorable Keiko Lynn on Pinterest with her beautiful hair and fresh-faced makeup. Her tip for perfect eyebrows every time has seriously saved me a lot of time in the morning. I don’t naturally have beautiful, thick brows like Lily Collins and filling them in a little really frames my face. Lining the brows before filling them in is seriously a game-changer in terms of getting them just right.
The Beauty Department is chock full of helpful beauty tips with fresh, bright photography and easy-to-follow hair and makeup tutorials. I recently came across this mascara tip and was skeptical that there could be a NEW way to apply mascara. Well, I was wrong. This easy tip has my lashes looking their best.
I had been searching for natural alternatives for makeup that really works for years and coming up short. I still remember the time I went into Sephora two or three years ago and asked for some natural makeup alternatives and received the blankest stare before getting she showed me one line that she thought was natural. Sarah Walker from The Curated House posted her favorite green makeup alternatives and it was just what I needed to get started and create my own All Natural Beauty Favorites post.
This tip is super simple and great for when you want sleek and straight hair without the fuzz.
This tip is so great, it solved a problem I didn’t even know I had. When I straightened my hair with a flat-iron, it would turn out a little too stick-straight for my taste, but I didn’t think I could achieve the look I get at the salon. This tutorial showed me how to blow-dry my hair to get more volume and use my flat-iron to get a little movement and bend at the bottom. It really changed the way I style my hair straight and it is much more flattering around the face.
I don’t like to get too wrapped up in appearances, but looking your best sure does give you the confidence to go out and kick ass. I hope these tips save you a few minutes in the morning or just make getting ready a little easier.
