I thought you might like a peek into baby girl’s baby shower! She is so loved already and Marc and I were overwhelmed by all of the love and thought put into our shower. Once the words, “I’m pregnant” came out of my mouth, our friend (and Marc’s cousin) Nancy said, “I’m throwing you a shower!” She and her daughter Allison, kept the details a secret and it was the loveliest surprise.
When we walked into the Italian restaurant, I saw red, white and blue balloons in the distance. As we walked closer with increased curiosity, it was a Detroit Pistons-themed first communion party with dj and professional photographer. On our left, was a more intimate room with soft, feminine details to celebrate our little one. The room had a row of windows, which gave us a great view of the Pistons mascot pulling up, psyching himself up on the sidewalk and running into the restaurant while we were packing up. Epic.
Nancy, her husband Bruce, and Allison collaborated on the adorable succulent favors. Bruce made the wooden planters and Allison added washi tape accents and little signs.
We had a delicious Italian meal of fresh salad, chicken marsala and penne pasta with red sauce. Our talented friend, Jenn, created the most beautiful dessert table. She said she stalked my Instagram page for things I like to eat and worked with Nancy and Allison on the look. The dessert table had “a look” you guys! There were dark chocolate-covered almond clusters with flaky sea salt, mini cream puffs with pink filling, fruit skewers, flourless brownie and fruit parfaits, tea shortbread cookies with gold sprinkles and mini pink macarons with Nutella filling. The pretty cake had the palest pink frosting and a golden rose accent.
Our favorite people came and showered us with hugs and love and presents for baby girl.
I cut the cake to find my favorite combination. A spongy yellow cake with a vanilla cream and fresh berry filling.
After we opened presents, I wanted to tell everyone how much we appreciate them, but I just cried! I really wanted to hold it together, but I couldn’t. I hope our gratitude came through in our individual conversations and thank you cards because it was the loveliest!

So sweet and so fun! It’s really emotional when people gather to celebrate your babe.
It really is!
