You now have some Concord Grape + Balsamic Shrub hanging out in your fridge, right? Let’s turn that into a pretty cocktail! I collaborated with Marc on this recipe because he does most of the shaker work in this house. I thought bourbon and orange would mix well with the grape shrub and together we worked it out. We’re really proud of this one.
It tastes like a fancy craft cocktail you get at the hipster restaurants, but you can make this one at home. You get that sweet punch of grape, like that first rush of grape flavor from grape bubble gum, but the balsamic adds a deeper flavor that’s lifted up by the orange from the Grand Marnier and Angostura bitters. A fragrant orange slice is the final touch.
And can we talk about the color? I don’t even know what you would call it, but I’d totally wear that lipstick shade for fall.
this would be a great lipstick color! I kind of forget about grape things and this has me totally intrigued!
I have a crush on concord grapes now! Their aromatic super-grapiness is hard not to fall in love with!
