I washed and prepped my CSA share as soon as I brought it home. I knew with last weekend’s wedding and my parents visiting for a few days that we would be off of our routine a bit.
Last night, we grilled pork chops and broccoli drizzled in olive oil. I used my red fingerling potatoes to make a French potato salad with a tangy dijon vinaigrette that I’ve been making all summer since Megan introduced me to it at her Lovely Lady Lunch.
This week we received: broccoli, carrots, cucumber, dinosaur and Russian kale, green beans, heirloom tomatoes, patty pan squash, red fingerling potatoes, red sails head lettuce, parsley, basil, sage, garlic, shallots and Nasturtium flowers.
On Monday we took my parents to Greenfield Village, a 100 acre village created by Henry Ford that is home to the Wright Brother’s bicycle shop and Edison’s laboratory. You can take a ride in a Model T Ford or hop on the steam engine train, too. Below are my favorite phone shots from the day. Happy weekend!
