I’m still happy to see bright heirloom tomatoes in our share and we received our first muskmelon! The scent of the melon is filling our kitchen, so I know it’s ripe and I must cut into it soon. Beet greens and swiss chard have been going into our smoothies this week. I really like the unique flavor the chard and beet greens add. Currently I’m mixing the greens with fresh local apples, frozen mango and frozen blueberries.
This week we received beets and their greens, cabbage, swiss chard, muskmelon, orange bell pepper, heirloom tomatoes, parsley, basil and sage.
I couldn’t help picking up this beautiful bunch of flowers at the farmers market. I didn’t have much cash on me, but I made the trip to the ATM and came back because I just had to have it. I’m changing the water every day and they still look beautiful 5 days later.
This was dinner Tuesday night and as far as I’m concerned, it doesn’t get much better. I added some fresh torn basil when I remembered I had some.
Looks delicious!
Thanks, Melinda!
those tomatoes are so beautiful! well done 🙂
I’m savoring them while I can!
