We were out of town two weekends ago and therefore CSA-less last week. I missed all of those beautiful greens! I’ll be out of town, again, this weekend, but I plan to pick my share up at another location after work today. It’s less convenient, but I just have to get my share.
Each week I’m impressed with the beautiful organic produce in each box. This week, bright edible flowers were included. I placed them on top of a big green salad dressed with an Asian vinaigrette.
This week we received french breakfast radishes, Jericho romaine lettuce, dinosaur kale, swiss chard, spring onions, wild lettuce mix, garlic scapes and Nasturtiums (edible flowers).
A few of the swiss chard leaves and chopped garlic scapes made for a tasty side of healthy greens next to Saturday morning scrambled eggs. I used the rest of my swiss chard to make these wonderful Swiss Chard and Caramelized Onion Tacos. I sliced some of the radishes for a crunchy taco topping and added a few cilantro leaves, too.
And don’t forget! The Bake For Their Sake auction starts Friday at 10 am Pacific time over at Echoing Good’s Facebook page. Head over if you want some Dark Chocolate Rocky Road Cookies from me or other delicious goodies from your favorite bloggers!
