Megan and Cindy invited me to their Lovely Lady Lunch this past Saturday and it was amazing. Truly. Berries or summer fruit on everything, lots of pink things, gold silverware, polka dot plates, pretty glasses for several girly beverages and gorgonzola dripping with honey. It was just the best!
There were 5 of us gathered around Megan’s mint picnic table. It had been drizzling during the day and gray clouds filled the sky, but the rain miraculously cleared up right when we were about to sit down with a gorgeous cheese plate and strawberry mozzarella bruschetta.
Look at that beautiful table wear. Megan and Cindy know how to throw a lady party, clearly.
The cheeses were dotted with raspberries to look like huge slices of cake. The gorgonzola was drizzled with honey and sprinkled with walnuts, oh yeah.
Cindy’s raspberry rose lemonade with vanilla bean (and vodka) was really refreshing and Megan’s arugula salad with strawberries and goat cheese rolled in pistachios was just dreamy.
Just look at that pork! It was almost too pretty to eat, but we managed somehow. It was incredible.
Cindy made this gorgeous layer cake with whipped cream swirled with chocolate shavings, fruit and mini plastic deer roaming on top among the summer berries. I can’t remember the last time I had a piece of cake that delicious. After we all had a perfect slice on our lady-like plates, we dug our forks into the leftovers while talking Mad Men, Elton John and Celine Dion’s wedding headpiece. What more could you ask for?
Thanks for inviting me, Cindy and Megan! It was such a blast and I marvel at your party planning and food skills! There has never been a more lovely lady lunch and I’m so pleased I was able to be there.

Yay! I need more cake! <3 Can't wait to hang out again soon.
It really was the best! I hope my bridal shower next weekend is half as cute!
