On a sunny and snowy Sunday, Marc and I went to Megan’s flat for her annual Valentine’s Day Brunch. I woke up early that morning from excitement. Remember the lady lunch that she and Cindy planned last summer? I just knew I was in for a treat.
Megan makes the cutest mini food and I saw peeks of what she was making through her Instagram feed. We arrived and it was like spring in her place with red, pink, peach and gold fringe. I’m pretty sure I gasped when I saw the huge spread of beautiful food.
Megan posted a recap of her party with links to all of the recipes. She’s so thoughtful. She spoiled us with baked french toast cups, chicken and waffle bites, strawberry shortcake cups, breakfast sausage corn dogs (!!), donuts rolled in vanilla sugar, BLT sliders, fingerling potato salad and my personal favorite, cobb salad deviled eggs. They taste JUST like a cobb salad. I forgot to high-five her over those. She also had two pretty cheese plates and the mimosas were flowing like crazy.
All of her guests were lovely. One of Megan’s high school friends is practically my neighbor and we’d never met until this brunch. What?!? We could have carpooled.
I really enjoyed getting to know Megan’s friends and we chatted about various topics like phone apps, New York fashion week, elbow patches, perfume, True Detective, Lavender Sea Salt Steaks, Moscow Mules, jobs, cheese, the freeway we all hate and craft fairs. Marc and I tentatively planned on running some errands later that afternoon, but we couldn’t help but stay and listen to the great playlist Tim created and continue to talk and nibble. It was like the best part of Thanksgiving, where you go back for another plate after a few hours.
Thanks for inviting us, Megan! And thanks for the plate of goodies to take home that are long gone now. We stuffed ourselves silly and had the best time.
Oh yay! This post makes me so happy! So glad to have you two. Excited about summer backyard parties now!
