It turns out that it’s ramp week here on Dula Notes. I want to share these recipes with you while you can still get your hands on them. And this recipe happens to be great for Memorial Day.
On Sunday we’re having our annual Mother’s Day/Memorial Day barbecue where my parents, Marc’s parents and our brothers and sisters come over. I love it. I look forward to it every year and it’s a blast. Right now I’m writing down what I’m making and when. My lists have lists and I’m getting a bit stressed, but I’ve asked Mom to teach me her cream puff recipe this weekend. No matter how many things we have going, I want cream puffs. Wish me luck.
This potato salad is a variation of my favorite potato salad and the one I like to make most when having people over. I make it the day before and Marc grills something and just like that, dinner. More time for sipping cocktails and catching up, which is the best part about having people over.
I gave this potato salad a ramp makeover and I think it turned out delicious. It’s tangy and creamy with a hint of garlic from the ramps and a mild onion bite from the shallot. It can be your make ahead miracle, too.
